Beautiful manoir with large barn and views
This beautiful Manor with a large barn that used to be a sawmill, is located in a small hamlet, about 10km from Corbigny and with beautiful views to the south and south-west towards Champallement.
The story goes that the owner of the sawmill had the stately manor built so that everyone could see how well things were going. And that those things went well for him can be seen because it is still a beautiful building in which all the grandeur of the bygone times has been preserved.
Through the stately front door you enter the hallway with beautiful original faience tiles on the floor. These tiles have been preserved on the rest of the ground floor in addition to the Library.
To the right in the hallway is the living room with a beautiful parquet floor and an Insert fireplace.
To the left of the corridor, is a room that is now used as a library, but that can also be used as a bedroom. Next to this room are the wide oak stairs with half-landing leading to the first floor. Beneath the staircase is access via a stone staircase to the first of two cellars which houses the Central Heating Boiler and a 3000 litre Oil Storage tank, with access direct off the street for oil deliveries. The boiler heats the whole house via cast iron pipes and radiators.
At the end of the corridor you will find a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with units and cupboards by Mobalpa. The fully fitted kitchen units, which will remain with the house, include a double sink with mixer tap, 5-ring gas Hob, electric multi-purpose oven, a dishwasher, complete worktop, and cupboards in oak.
Through the kitchen you enter the utility room with access to the garden.
From the garden, and adjacent to the Utility room is a second staircase in stone which gives access to the second cellar, which is arranged as two rooms, with the first serving as wine cellar, and with cylinder and pump for the alternative water supply from the Manor’s private well. The second cellar room is used for over-wintering plants and has a separate access to the street.
Returning to the house, at the end of the Entrance corridor to the right is a spacious bathroom, with separate WC. Off the bathroom is also a Larder with full shelving.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, two of which have tomette floors and a spacious bathroom with bath, bidet and separate shower cabin.
In the walled, tastefully landscaped garden you will find the former sawmill with around100m² of floor space on the ground floor, plus similar space at first floor level under a cathedral roof.
The garden itself consists of two areas with different seating areas where you can enjoy the sun all day. The garden area behind the barn( the “Secret Garden”) has two mature cherry trees and many other bushes and shrubs, and offers a great view south onto the surrounding hills. There are mature climbing and bush roses throughout the gardens, plus a large and well-established Prunus tree.
In short, a beautiful manor that is in excellent condition and where the Fosse Septique, which was installed in 2017, complies with all current norms.
A Manor House with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate WC and a beautiful spacious kitchen, a lounge, a lovely garden and a barn that is large enough to serve all kinds of purposes.
